| Fire Alarm Activation - Close call |
Wed. Apr 25th 2012
On the morning of Thursday April 25th at 9:16am the Hagaman Fire Department, along with daytime mutual aid, was dispatched to a fire alarm activation at 45 Lansing St in the village of Hagaman. First arriving Chief units on scene found a smoke condition from inside the 2 story single family residence. Assistant Chief Sandy noticed the smoke was coming from a trash can in the living room near the fire place and quickly threw the container out the door. While the engine crew went in and checked for extension, assistant chief Sandy was able to remove a dog from the residence away from harm. Crews contained the fire to the area of origin and ventilated the structure. Chief Reksc cancelled all other responding units and returned mutual aid to service.
No one was home at the time. Luckily the fire alarm system did its job by notifying us before the fire got too big. There was minimal damage done to the residence and no injuries reported. All units were back in service at 10:06am. Car 218, 218-A1, Engine 5 and fire police responded.
