This month has turned out to be a very exciting month for our department ! On Friday,September 21st 2012 the Hagaman Volunteer Fire Department took delivery of our new Engine 5. This new piece of apparatus was purchased to replace our 1993 Pierce Dash engine which has proudly served our area for 20 yrs.Engine 5 has been a great truck and still is, but due to new standards for safety and functionality it doesn't meet the standards. We will be sad to say goodbye to the current Engine 5 as many of us have grown up knowing the sounds, sights, and smells of engine 5, however we embrace the changes and look forward to using our new Engine 5. Our new engine is a 2012 Toyne, with a Spartan Gladiator 6 man cab.
Engine 5's specs are as follows:
2012 Spartan gladiator 6 man cab
2012 Toyne custom body
1500 GPM pump
750 gallons of water
20 gallons of foam
500 HP Cummins Motor with an Allison transmission
We are excited to train on the new engine and see what it can do . Hopefully it will serve our community as well as the current Engine 5 has. Keep your eyes open for the new Engine 5 out and about. And again we thank you for your continued support.
